Korean series continue to conquer Netflix. A few weeks after making the romcom Boyfriend on Demand official, the streaming platform revealed that it is working on Wish Your Death, a young adult horror series that blends technology, the occult, and suspense.

Directed by Park Youn-seo (Kingdom, Moving), the K-drama follows five Seorin High students who are connected by a mysterious app that can grant their wishes… for a terrifying price. When they receive a death warning after using the app, the group discovers that it is linked to the sudden death of a classmate. And so begins a race against time to escape their fate.

To play these high school students, Netflix has cast some of South Korea’s rising stars: Jeon So-young (Melo Movie) will play Se-ah, a promising track athlete determined to uncover the secrets of the wish-granting app, while Kang Mi-na (Café Minamdang) will play Na-ri, a popular high school girl admired for her idol-like looks who doesn’t believe the app’s ominous reputation. Baek Sun-ho (Kick Kick Kick Kick) will play Geon-woo, Se-ah’s secret boyfriend, who is worried about her growing obsession with the app, while Hyun Woo-seok (Cheer Up) will lend his features to Ha-joon, the group’s mastermind, who uses his coding skills to unlock the app’s secrets. Finally, Lee Hyo-je (Hunted) will play Hyeong-wook, a prankster whose life is turned upside down after a careless wish.

With Wish Your Death, Netflix says in its press release that it wants to explore the fears and dreams of a generation torn between ambition and reality. At this time, no release date has been announced by the streaming platform.
