[Video] Ronen Rubinstein (9-1-1: Lone Star) reflects on his relationship with Lisa Edelstein and Rob Lowe

While in Paris to attend the First Responders Reunion 4 convention, Ronen Rubinstein, who plays TK Strand on 9-1-1: Lone Star, was asked repeatedly about his experience on the FOX series. This was an opportunity for him to talk about working with Lisa Edelstein and Rob Lowe, the actors who play Gwyneth Morgan and Owen Strand, TK’s parents.

Regarding Lisa Edelstein, known to many for her role as Lisa Cuddy on Dr. House, Ronen Rubinstein says she’s one of his “most cherished scene partners” because of their characters’ storylines. He adds: “She was just so incredibly wonderful and generous to work with. I definitely felt a very strong motherly presence when I was on set with her. She got to see me at my most vulnerable […] because of all the flashbacks. […] I felt so safe to be like that with her. I think she made me better and made me feel more confident in those scenes so I just will forever cherish her.“

As for Rob Lowe, the actor who plays TK Strand admits that it was fascinating “getting to know him as a man and as a father and not you know the big movie star that everybody knows”. He adds that he learned a lot from his two co-stars and says that spending 72 episodes alongside Rob Lowe was a “priceless education”.

The fifth and final season of 9-1-1: Lone Star is currently airing on FOX. The final episode of the series will air on Monday, February 3, 2025.
