For six seasons, Tom Ellis played Lucifer Morningstar, the ruler of hell who became a nightclub manager in Los Angeles, while Lesley-Ann Brandt brought to life Mazikeen, Lucifer’s loyal lieutenant and best friend. A duo that Lucifer fans would love to see on screen again, but is it the same for the two principals involved? This question was put to them at the Dream It Fest Paris 2 convention.
A movie for Lucifer’s 10th anniversary? “Dear Netflix…”
When asked about the possibility of a movie or special reunion to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary, the two actors made no secret of their enthusiasm for such a project. “I think I’d do a movie if they asked us to do a movie,” says Tom Ellis, before adding, “I think we’re all very, very fond of it [the series], and if there was an opportunity to do something like that, I think we probably would jump at it”. A sentiment shared by Lesley-Ann Brandt.
The two actors suggest that fans contact Netflix to get a movie made, and humorously ask how this campaign can be carried out: “Dear Netflix is what people need to write. We don’t have Twitter anymore, that’s gone, so maybe we just, how do we do that… I don’t know… Everybody needs to go to Los Angeles and bang on the door… No, no don’t do that,” they said jokingly as you can see in the video below.
A Lucifer Podcast coming soon?
In keeping with the trend of rewatch podcasts (where actors comment on episodes), the two Lucifer co stars say they’re up for it, too. “We all like to talk, so it’s probably a good medium for us. Yeah, that would be fun,” admits Tom Ellis. And the two actors can already imagine a scenario in which the podcast could convince Netflix to offer them a Lucifer movie.
And you, would you like a Lucifer movie with the original cast or a rewatch podcast? Let us know in the comments.
