Private Eyes: Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson hit the West Coast!

Good news for fans of Private Eyes: Global has just announced the launch of a spin-off called Private Eyes West Coast. This new series will take detectives Matt Shade (Jason Priestley) and Angie Everett (Cindy Sampson) to a whole new universe. After five years of investigating crimes in Toronto, Matt and Angie now lead very different lives in Victoria, British Columbia, and will be able to count on new friends and allies to help them with their investigations. The press release promises that “summer on the west coast has never been hotter”.

Jason Priestley is thrilled to be bringing Matt Shade back to the big screen and says he can’t wait “for our audiences to see what surprises our new world has in store”. The studios are equally excited. Rachel Nelson, Vice President of Original Programming at Corus, says: “Private Eyes resonated so deeply with viewers at home and abroad, and alongside our valued production partners, we’re so excited to see Shade and Angie now on the beautiful coast of British Columbia.”

The spin-off marks a turning point for Corus, which has never commissioned a spin-off of one of its original series.
