Good news for fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Disney+ original series based on the work of Rick Riordan has just been officially renewed for a third season. This early renewal proves, if proof were needed, that Disney is confident that Percy Jackson and the Olympians will continue to be a hit on its streaming platform, as the series is currently one of the top five most-watched original series on Disney+, and the second season won’t air until next December.
Following the announcement, Rick Riordan, who co-created the series with Jonathan E. Steinberg, made no secret of his excitement: “We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+. This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time. It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”
The third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be based on the book The Titan’s Curse, which has the following official synopsis: When the goddess Artemis goes missing, she is believed to have been kidnapped. And now it’s up to Percy and his friends to find out what happened. Who is powerful enough to kidnap a goddess? They must find Artemis before the winter solstice, when her influence on the Olympian Council could swing an important vote on the war with the titans. Not only that, but first Percy will have to solve the mystery of a rare monster that Artemis was hunting when she disappeared—a monster rumored to be so powerful it could destroy Olympus forever.
While you’ll have to be patient to discover this new adventure on your screens, Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will debut on Disney+ in December 2025. The cast includes Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer.
