One Tree Hill: a sequel in development with Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton

In the early 2000s, One Tree Hill shaped a generation of viewers who followed the adventures of Nathan, Lucas, Peyton, Brooke and Haley. Twelve years after the show ended, fans are still out in force, as evidenced by the many events and conventions dedicated to the show that take place around the world. And the buzz isn’t about to die down, as several American media outlets are talking about the development of a One Tree Hill sequel.

While rumors about the show keep popping up, TVLine reports that the potential One Tree Hill sequel is currently in development at Netflix. This news is sure to please longtime fans, and it comes with another announcement that should make them very happy. The American media outlet adds that two of the show’s iconic actresses, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton, will be involved as producers and will reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer.

Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton will be joined by Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles. The latter, who also appeared on One Tree Hill, is said to be in talks to reprise her role as Rachel, according to Deadline.

As for the synopsis, few details have leaked out, but the American media report that the series is set 20 years in the future and will follow Brooke and Peyton as they are now mothers of teenagers facing similar challenges to those they faced when they were younger.
