Sarah Drew and Chyler Leigh, two former stars of Grey’s Anatomy, will continue their adventures on Hallmark Media channels and platforms. In fact, as announced in the past few days, both Mistletoe Murders and The Way Home, in which they star, have been renewed for an additional season.

New investigations for Sarah Drew

The Mistletoe Murders series, which has won over mystery and Christmas fans, returns for a second season on Hallmark+. The series plunges us into the world of Emily Lane (Sarah Drew), a Christmas store manager who investigates murders with Sam Wilner (Peter Mooney), a detective with the Fletcher’s Grove Police Department, and her daughter Violet (Sierra Marilyn Riley). On the surface, Emily is a mystery lover, perfectly charming and easy-going, but she’s hiding a secret past that, if revealed, could destroy the new life she’s built for herself in Fletcher’s Grove.

Samantha DiPippo, President of Programming for Hallmark Media, said: “We had searched for the right series to blend Christmas with mysteries — two genres our viewers love — and Mistletoe Murders cracked that case to perfection. The enthusiastic audience reaction made the decision to renew the series an easy one. After the jaw-dropping season finale that left fans asking, Who is Emily Lane?, we look forward to another riveting holiday in Fletcher’s Grove filled with mystery, romance and of course, Christmas.”

Mistletoe Murders Season 2 will begin filming in the coming months and is scheduled to air during the holiday season of 2025.

The Way Home: a fourth season expected in 2026

Hallmark Channel’s flagship series The Way Home is back for another season. With season three having just finished airing, the network has ordered a new salvo of episodes and made it official with a video featuring Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh, two of the show’s stars.

Evan Williams, who stars with the two actresses and Sadie Laflamme-Snow in The Way Home, greeted the news with enthusiasm: “I couldn’t be more thrilled with this news. So much love to the entire team that brings this show to life.” A sentiment echoed by Samantha DiPippo, who was keen to highlight the work of the creative teams: “Our talented writing staff led by the mother-daughter showrunning team of Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke continues to amaze us as they raise the bar each season, Their carefully crafted storytelling filled with family drama, romance and an absorbing mystery has enthralled the show’s passionate fanbase and has made The Way Home appointment television.”

Season 4 of The Way Home will air on Hallmark Channel in 2026, and fans can once again look forward to romance, family drama, mystery and time travel, as Andie MacDowell points out in the video announcing the renewal.
