The cast of the Malcolm In The Middle sequel is taking shape. After confirming the return of Frankie Muniz (Malcolm), Jane Kaczmarek (Lois) and Bryan Cranston (Hal), fans of the sitcom will be pleased to learn that two more iconic actors will be reprising their roles.
As confirmed by several American media outlets, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield, who play Francis and Reese, will also appear in this four-part miniseries from Linwod Boomer, the creator of the original show. Erik Per Sullivan, the actor who played Dewey, will be absent from this Malcolm In The Middle sequel and will be replaced by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark (Joe Pickett, Wynonna Earp). This absence is not surprising, as Erik Per Sullivan decided to put his acting career on hold after the end of Malcolm In The Middle to devote himself to his studies, as Jane Kaczmarek indicated during her appearance at the Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show in 2024.
The cast of this Malcolm In The Middle revival will be completed by the presence of Kiana Madeira (Fear Street, After), Anthony Timpano (Riverdale, Nancy Drew), Vaughan Murrae (The Way Home, The Solutioneers) and Keeley Karsten (The Fabelmans). Kiana Madeira will play Tristan, Malcolm’s opinionated girlfriend who is too good for him by rational standards, while Anthony Timpano will play Jamie, Malcolm’s younger brother. A role played by Lukas and James Rodriguez in the original series. Finally, Vaughan Murrae will play Kelly, Malcolm’s sister, while Keeley Karsten will play Leah, Malcolm’s daughter. All will be reunited to witness Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding anniversary.
At the time of writing, Disney+ has yet to announce an air date for this highly anticipated sequel.
