Netflix has unveiled the first images from its series Karma, a thriller that explores the toxic connections between six characters trapped by their past choices.

Adapted from a webtoon by Choi Hee-sun, the series will feature some of the most recognisable faces in K-drama: Park Hae-soo (Squid Game, Money Heist: Korea), Shin Min-a (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, No Gain, No Love), Lee Hee-jun (A Killer Paradox, Chimera), Kim Sung-kyun (The Fiery Priest, Moving), Lee Kwang-soo (The Killer’s Shopping List, Dear My Friends) and Gong Seung-yeon (The First Responders, Bulgasal: Immortal Souls).

The trailer unveiled by the streaming platform immediately plunges us into a dark atmosphere and makes it clear that one of the characters will have to die in order to break the ties that bind them together. The trailer also gives us a brief glimpse at each of the characters at the heart of the plot: Park Hae-soo will play ‘The Witness’, Shin Min-a will step into the shoes of Ju-yeon, Lee Hee-jun will be ‘The Debtor’, while Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Kwang-soo and Gong Seung-yeon will play Gil-ryong, ‘Glasses’ and Yu-jeong respectively.

The Karma series, directed by Lee Il-hyung (A Violent Prosecutor), will be available on Netflix from 4 April 2025.
