Eight new names added to the cast of season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender

Miya Cech (Surfside Girl) won’t be the only new face in the second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The actress who will play the character of Toph will be joined by eight new actors, including the one who will play the character of Lady Beifong, Toph’s mother.

As Netflix announced on its social networks, Chin Han (American Born Chinese), Justin Chien (The Brothers Sun), Amanda Zhou (Spinning Out), Crystal Yu (Casualty), Kelemete Misipeka (Sons of Thunder), Hoa Xuande (The Sympathizer), Lourdes Faberes (Good Omens) and Rekha Sharma (Transplant) will all appear in the new episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender as residents of the Kingdom of Earth.

In Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Chin Han will play Long Feng, Ba Sing Se’s grand secretary and leader of Ba Sing Se secret police, the Dai Li, an elite force dedicated to capturing, interrogating and imprisoning political dissidents, while Justin Chien will play King Kuei, ruler of the Earth Kingdom who happens to be under Long Feng’s thumb. Amanda Zhou will play Joo Dee, a young woman and public servant / guide for important visitors in Ba Sing Se.

Crystal Yu will play Lady Beifong, Toph’s overprotective mother, while Kelemete Misipeka will play The Boulder, a professional earthbending wrestler. Hoa Xuande will play Professor Zei, an anthropologist from Ba Sing Se University, Lourdes Faberes will play General Sung, a high-ranking Earth Army commander and finally Rekha Sharma will play a character called Amita. Is this character inspired by Amrita, one of the members of the Creeping Crystal Triad? We will find out in the coming months.
