Paramount+ has just announced some excellent news for fans of Criminal Minds: the series will return for a 19th season. The renewal was made official by the streaming platform alongside the announcement of the air date for Season 18, which is expected to debut on Paramount+ on May 8, 2025.

The 10 episodes that make up Season 18 will air every Thursday, building suspense week by week as the action picks up six months after the attack on serial killer Elias Voit (Zach Gilford). His followers, still active on the Dark Web, are now wreaking havoc across the country. To counter this threat, the members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit have no choice but to work with Voit himself, whose motives remain obscure and dangerously unpredictable. This partnership, which promises to be risky, should bring its share of twists and turns.

Fans of Criminal Minds will be reunited with the series’ iconic faces in this 18th season, as Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss), Joe Mantegna (David Rossi), Aisha Tyler (Tara Lewis), A.J. Cook (Jennifer Jareau), Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia) and Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez) all return. It has also been confirmed that Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays Spencer Reid, will make a brief appearance in one of the upcoming episodes. What role will he play in the Season 18 storyline? Find out in May on Paramount+.
