With New York Comic Con 2024 just around the corner, studios and networks are beginning to reveal the animation they have planned for the event, and AMC Networks is one of them. The Walking Dead, DanMachi, Mayfair Witches and the horror genre will be in the spotlight with AMC.
According to a press release, several panels will be held throughout the weekend. It all begins on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. on the New York Comic Con Main Stage with a screening of the first episode of season two of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches series. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with executive producer Mark Johnson, series showrunner Esta Spalding, and three of the show’s stars: Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels.
On Friday, October 18, 2024, AMC will present two of its The Walking Dead spin-offs on the main stage. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., fans of The Walking Dead: Dead City will be able to preview Season 2, which is expected to premiere on AMC in 2025. They’ll also be able to chat with Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe, Eli Jorné, the show’s executive producer, and actors Lauren Cohan, Gaius Charles and Dascha Polanco.
AMC will also honor The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol with a one-hour panel (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) featuring Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, three stars of the series; Scott M. Gimple; David Zabel, the showrunner; as well as Greg Nicotero and Daniel Percival, the show’s directors and executive producers.
On the same day, fans of the horror genre will enjoy a panel titled “SHUDDER Is Here To Scare The S*** Out Of You” featuring Sam Zimmerman (host), David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Evil), Kate Siegel (V/H/S/Beyond), Flying Lotus (V/H/S/99), Natasha Kermani (V/H/S/85) and Tina Romero.
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., AMC Networks will host a final panel where anime fans can discover the first dubbed episode of DanMachi Season 5 – Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? The screening will be followed by a conversation with Bryson Baugus, voice of Bell Cranel, Juliet Simmons, voice of Syr, and Kyle Jones, ADR director.
