For several years now, Netflix has been offering its own Christmas productions for the holidays, and 2024 will be no exception. In the coming weeks, you will be able to find some familiar faces of the genre on the streaming platform, starting with Chad Michael Murray.
While the actor is best known for his roles in One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Dawson and Sullivan’s Crossing, he’s also no stranger to Christmas movies. Christmas on Windmill Way, The Holiday Train, Write Before Christmas and Road to Christmas are just a few of the movies he has appeared in during the holiday season, and now you can add The Merry Gentlemen to that list.
Directed by Peter Sullivan (The Road Home for Christmas, Sharing Christmas) and written by Marla Sokoloff (The Practice, Fuller House), we follow Ashley (Britt Robertson), a former dancer who uses her choreographic skills to stage an all-male Christmas-themed revue to save the Rhythm Room, her parents’ small-town performing arts venue. Among the men asked to perform in Ashley’s show is Luke (Chad Michael Murray), a kind, confident and slightly sarcastic entrepreneur.
A role for which Chad Michael Murray has trained hard, as he confided to Netflix, and for which he has had to drop the top several times, as the promo photos suggest.
