The Electric State: Netflix unveils trailer for movie starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt

The Electric State panel was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated of the first day of New York Comic Con 2024, and it lived up to its promise as Netflix revealed the first trailer for its event film in the presence of directors Joe and Anthony Russo and the film’s two stars, Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt.

Set in a retro-futuristic version of the ’90s after a robot uprising, here is what the official synopsis of The Electric State reads: “Determined to find the beloved sibling she thought she had lost, Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown) sets out across the American southwest with Cosmo, and soon finds herself reluctantly joining forces with Keats (Chris Pratt), a low-rent smuggler, and his wisecracking robot sidekick, Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie). As they venture into the Exclusion Zone, a walled-off corner in the desert where robots now exist on their own, Keats and Michelle find a strange, colorful group of new animatronic allies — and begin to learn that the forces behind Michelle’s brother Christopher’s disappearance are more sinister than they ever expected.”

The cast also includes Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Woody Norman (Poldark), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Stanley Tucci (Hunger Games). Woody Harrelson (Zombieland), Anthony Mackie (Avengers), Brian Cox (Succession), Jenny Slate (Big Mouth) and Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien) will lend their voices to some of the characters in The Electric State.

You’ll have to be patient to see this five-star cast, as The Electric State won’t be available on Netflix until March 14, 2025. In the meantime, check out the first trailer below.
