Sidney Prescott’s family will be at the center of Scream 7. After making Neve Campbell‘s return official and announcing the name of the actress who will play Sidney’s daughter, Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures have revealed the identity of the actor who will play the husband of the saga’s “final girl”.
While many thought the role would go to Patrick Dempsey, who played Mark Kincaid in the third opus, the producers of Scream 7 have gone in a completely different direction. Sidney Prescott’s husband will be Mark Evans, a new character to be played by Joel McHale (Community, Animal Control).
No further details about this character have been revealed, but Joel McHale won’t be the only new face in Scream 7, as it has been confirmed that McKenna Grace (The Haunting of Hill House), Sam Rechner (Heartbreak High), Isabel May (1883), Celeste O’Connor (Madame Web), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Asa Germann (Gen-V) will also be joining the cast.
Jasmin Savoy Brown back in Scream 7
While the Scream franchise will have to do without Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, it will be able to count on the presence of Courteney Cox and Mason Gooding – who play Gale Weathers and Chad Meeks-Martin, respectively – in the 7th installment. These two actors won’t be the only familiar faces in the cast, as Jasmin Savoy Brown has also signed on to reprise her role. The actress will play Mindy Meeks-Martin, Chad’s sister.
After surviving her confrontations with Ghostface in the last two movies, will she do the same in Scream 7? The answer will be in movie theaters in 2026.
