Scream fans can look forward to seeing two more familiar faces in the 7th instalment of the franchise. After Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin) and Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), Deadline has announced that Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley will also be returning.
Matthew Lillard is best known for his role in the first Scream film as Stu Macher, one of the film’s antagonists alongside Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich). Scott Foley, meanwhile, took part in the filming of Scream 3, playing Roman Bridger, the franchise’s most prolific Ghostface.
The return of these two actors raises many questions: did they survive and, if so, did they play a role in the subsequent massacres? Will they only appear in flashbacks? Will they play different characters? These are questions that won’t be answered until 2026, when Scream 7 is released.
In the meantime, it has been confirmed that the film, directed by Kevin Williamson, will welcome a host of new actors to the cast. As announced in recent weeks, McKenna Grace (The Haunting of Hill House), Mark Consuelos (Riverdale), Sam Rechner (Heartbreak High), Isabel May (1883), Celeste O’Connor (Madame Web), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Joel McHale (Community) and Asa Germann (Gen-V) will be joining the cast of the 7th instalment of the Scream franchise.
