After Camila Mendes, another Riverdale star is set to star in a romantic comedy from Amazon MGM Studios. According to Deadline, Madelaine Petsch will star in and executive produce the feature film Maintenance Required.
Directed by Lacey Uhlemeyer, who also co-wrote the script with Roo Berry, Luke Roberts and writer Erin Falconer, the film follows Charlie (Madelaine Petsch), a young woman who is forced to question the viability of her all-female mechanic shop. Seeking exposure on an online auto forum, she has no idea that her confidant, Beau, is actually her real-life rival. Charlie’s rival is played by Jacob Scipio, most recently seen in the Bad Boys franchise and the Pieces of Her series.
On Instagram, Madelaine Petsch admits she can’t wait for her fans to get to know the character of Charlie, while Matt Williams, the film’s producer, told Deadline: “We are thrilled to be working with Amazon MGM Studios on Maintenance Required. This project blends the charm and wit of a classic romance with the exhilarating world of car culture. It’s great to see Madelaine behind the wheel, driving the story alongside our fantastic leading man Jacob Scipio.”
At the time of writing, no release date for Maintenance Required has been announced by Amazon MGM Studios.
