Lilo & Stitch: Disney Unveils Trailer for Live-Action Movie

With just a few months to go before Lilo & Stitch hits theaters, Disney has unveiled the official trailer for the live-action adaptation of its famous animated film. Get ready to immerse yourself in a funny and touching story of friendship, family and alien adventure.

A trailer faithful to the original film

More than 20 years later, Lilo, the lonely Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, the temperamental alien on the run, are being brought back to life on the big screen in an adventure that promises to be faithful to the original film. The trailer unveiled by Disney takes us back to some of the film’s iconic moments, while giving us a first look at Stitch’s boundless energy and the unique relationship between Lilo and her new alien friend.

Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), the film will star Maia Kealoha as Lilo, while Chris Sanders, the original voice of Stitch, will reprise his role in the live-action film. They will be joined by Sydney Agudong (On My Block) as Nani, the protective older sister, while Courtney B. Vance (Grotesquerie) will play Cobra cop Bubbles. Billy Magnussen (Made for Love) will play the extravagant alien Pleakley, while Zach Galifianakis (Baskets) will play the dangerous Dr. Jumba. Finally, Tia Carrere (Sydney Fox the Adventurer) and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) will play Mrs. Kekoa and the Federation’s Grand Councilwoman, respectively.

Lilo & Stitch will be released in the U.S. on May 23, 2025.
