Leading the nominations of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last December, the film The Banshees of Inisherin is the best in the film categories at the end of the 80th Golden Globes. Winner of three awards, Martin McDonagh‘s feature film won Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical (Colin Farrell) and Best Screenplay.
This film is just ahead of Steven Spielberg‘s The Fabelmans and Everything Everywhere All at Once by Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan. The first named left with the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director while the second was awarded for the performances of Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.
In the series categories, the Abbott Elementary comedy won the most Golden Globes at the end of the night. The ABC program took home the awards for Best Comedy or Musical Series, Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Series (Quinta Brunson) and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama, Comedy or Musical Series (Tyler James Williams). The White Lotus is the only other series to win more than one award. It won the Golden Globes for Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Jennifer Coolidge).
Other winners include House of the Dragon (Best Drama Series), Zendaya (Best Actress in a Drama Series) and Evan Peters (Best Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television).
