Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman, more than 20 years after the release of Freaky Friday.
In Freakier Friday, which will be released in August 2025, Anna has become a mother and is about to have a stepdaughter. As all the girls in the Coleman family face the myriad challenges of joining two families, Tess, Anna and the two teens discover that, against all odds, lightning really can strike twice in the same place…
As the trailer released by Disney suggests, the exchange of bodies between the four protagonists should lead to many unusual scenes. The nearly two-minute video also offers a glimpse of Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon and Rosalind Chao reprising their roles as Jake, Ryan and Pei-Pei. The cast also includes Julia Butters (American Housewife), Sophia Hammons (Up Here), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever) and Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live).
Directed by Nisha Ganatra (Late Night), Freakier Friday will be released in U.S. theaters on August 8, 2025.
