Jessica Goodman’s novel “They wish they were us” will soon have a new chapter. The book is indeed being adapted for the small screen, as a series. It should be called “The Player’s Table”.

Make room, a new novel is going to be released as a TV series! This is probably the good news for Jessica Goodman, author of the book They Wish They Were Us. The author will soon be able to discover her story on television, as a series. This drama for teenagers only saw the light of day in bookstores over the summer. It should appeal to all fans of the “Gossip Girl” series.

The cream of the crop

The story is that of an elite group into which no one can get in. It is on the basis of rather rigorous criteria and often intimidating tasks that the newcomers are recruited. Becoming one of them means not only becoming the most popular person in the school, but also easily getting the exam subjects in advance and being on the radar of the most prestigious universities. Spectators will then meet Jill Newman, a high school student ready to do anything to find out the truth about the death of her best friend three years ago.

If the channel is not yet known, we already know that the author and composer Halsey will be there, as an actress but also as a producer. Sydney Sweeney, who has already appeared in “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “Heroes” and “Grey’s Anatomy” will also be cast.
