Yvonne Strahovski will continue to take part in literary adaptations for the small screen. After appearing in The Handmaid’s Tale and The Astronaut Wives Club, the actress has been chosen to play the lead role in the series A Woman of Intelligence.
Adapted from the novel of the same name by Karin Tanabe, this new production from UCP, a branch of Universal Studio Group, will be set in the 1950s and follow a housewife overwhelmed by the loneliness of motherhood who finds a way to rebuild her life when she is invited by the FBI to infiltrate the KGB. But what starts out as a good way to get childcare quickly turns into a nightmare, and she realizes that the future of her family and the fate of the Western world are in her hands.
In addition to her role as lead actress, Yvonne Strahovski will act as executive producer alongside Tom Bidwell (The Irregulars, My Mad Fat Diary). Tom Bidwell will also write the scripts for A Woman of Intelligence.
